Hello! I'm an undergrad, and I was wondering if you had any idea as to how law schools view W's on a transcript? I have two and I'm wondering if they're going to completely ruin my chances of being accepted anywhere

Absolutely not. I had two/three withdrawals on my college transcript, and I did just fine. As long as you have a decent LSAT score and a decent GPA, you will get into a decent law school. However, if you want to get into a tier one law school, you will need to have an amazing LSAT score and an amazing GPA. Just remember: hard work pays off. But seriously, law school? Ick.

So I've been an attorney for just about two months now with no prospect of a job in sight. Would you recommend working at a place for free or just keep looking and hope something pops up?

I would definitely start volunteering and networking. Boost your resume as much as possible. Into criminal law? Volunteer at a defense legal aid. Tax law? Low income tax clinic. Immigration? Immigration assistance program. You get the idea.

Even if you start volunteering, that doesn’t mean you should stop looking and sending your resume out. Do both! I know that it sucks right now, but your dream job is out there. Don’t give up!
